Vision
Japan and the world face population decline and an ageing society.
Because Panasonic has stayed close to everyday life,
we can reinvent the mutual aid this era needs
and put a new framework into society.
Turning purpose into economic strength.
We believe that what will support a society in population decline is a sense of purpose.
Shortages of people and the strain on social infrastructure cannot be solved without
people getting involved and helping one another. Yet the activities that already sustain
local communities, rewarding as they are, are rarely recognised as work in economic terms.
We saw the need for a framework that draws on the acts of care and the shared assets that
already exist, and gives that sense of purpose a new economic value.
Because Panasonic has spent its history facing everyday life, we can reinvent the mutual
aid this era of population decline needs and put a new framework into society. Panasonic
.d Studio is a business studio that turns purpose into economic strength.
The future we want
A mutual-aid society where purpose circulates as value
Connecting the mutual aid that sits outside the economic framework to economic value, and creating new value that sustains society. As helping one another spreads as a culture that shapes the future, more mutual aid is born. Through this mission we circulate everyone's mutual aid into economic value and build a mutual-aid society. We want it to become a new sense of purpose for the people who live in that future.
Background
A society in population decline,
where new change begins
Population decline and ageing societies are advancing around the world. As the workforce shrinks and problems that public services alone cannot solve pile up, maintaining social infrastructure as we have known it grows steadily harder. At the same time, advances in technology are widening the possibilities for new ways of organising a society in which people support one another.
New opportunities
Change towards a society where mutual aid
circulates and purpose is born
In the society ahead of us, the connections between people matter more than ever. Even small acts of mutual aid, as they circulate, create a sense of purpose and social value. If that value is recognised economically as well, and returned to the next act of mutual aid, society will grow richer and more sustainable.
Why Panasonic ?
Panasonic, close to everyday life,
reinvents helping one another
Panasonic has stayed close to everyday life for more than a century. What we propose is a new option: a mutual-aid society in which helping one another becomes value and circulates. We are reinventing what it means to help one another, and realising the society that comes next.
